“…According to the literature, mercury in coal existed in the forms of inorganic mercury and organic mercury . Most of the inorganic mercury was associated with pyrite (FeS 2 ), and the rest occurred in other forms, including mercury halogen compounds, mercuric oxide, mercuric sulfide, mercuric sulfate, and mercury nitrate .
