Modified total interpretive structural modelling (TISM) of asymmetric motives and its drivers in Indian bilateral CBJV

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the elements of asymmetric motives, i.e., initial cross-border joint venture (CBJV) conditions and relative partner characteristics in emerging nations. The two main objectives of the present research are to identify the elements affecting asymmetric motives in Indian bilateral CBJV and to construct modified total interpretive structural modelling (TISM) for the identified elements of asymmetric motives. Design/methodology/approach For the current study, the qu… Show more

“…Twitter research has impacted various research areas which include finance, healthcare, information systems (Al-Laham et al, 2010;Bollen et al, 2011;Lasorsa et al, 2012;Park et al, 2013). The other areas which have seen a widespread impact are journalism, politics, marketing, strategy, psychology and communication (Robèrt et al, 2002;Dodds et al, 2011;Zappavigna, 2011;Gayo-Avello, 2013;Hasan et al, 2019).…”

“…TISM (Bamel, Dhir, & Sushil, ; Hasan, Dhir, & Dhir, ; Sushil, ) is a novel expansion of interpretive structural modeling (Warfield, ) that is used to create a hierarchical structure of a set of factors affecting a dependent factor. TISM deals with the progress of a directed graph for the intricate system among the set of elements and factors and allows to articulate mental models into a structure that can be utilized for explaining the effect of different factors on a dependent variable.…”

“…This study employs Total Interpretive Structural Modelling (TISM) (Sushil, 2017b(Sushil, , 2017aBamel, Dhir and Sushil, 2019;Hasan, Dhir and Dhir, 2019) for hierarchically depicting the role of each factor on the other and competitiveness of CA. The data is obtained by undertaking Focussed Group Discussion (FGD) with practitioners working in organizations involved in CA in India.…”
