Modular Analytical Multicomponent Analysis in Gas Sensor Aarrays

Abstract: A multi-sensor system is a chemical sensor system which quantitatively and qualitatively records gases with a combination of cross-sensitive gas sensor arrays and pattern recognition software. This paper addresses the issue of data analysis for identification of gases in a gas sensor array. We introduce a software tool for gas sensor array configuration and simulation. It concerns thereby about a modular software package for the acquisition of data of different sensors. A signal evaluation algorithm referred t… Show more

“…where b 1 , β 1 and b 2 , β 2 are the coefficients of the sensor for the two gases present in the mixture, at concentrations c 1 and c 2 respectively [37]. Hence, from the sensor behavior when the sensor is exposed to pure compounds, the model predicts sensor response when it is exposed to gas mixtures.…”

“…A significant number of electronic tongues-type sensors based on integrated microelectrodes [4 -6], fluorescent self-assembled monolayers [7], nanostructured thin-films of conducting polymers [8,9], multiple light-addressable potentiometric sensors [10,11], simple unspecific sensors [12] and chalcogenide glass thin-film sensors [13] have been developed. Fabrication, evaluation and application of different electronic noses have been also reported [2,14,15]. Flowinjection analysis (FIA) systems based on such multisensor arrays have been designed and applied recently for the determination of calcium ions [16], biomedical species [17] and ammonium ions [18].…”
