Show more

“…The microreactor was fabricated from PVDF foils via ultrasound hot embossing and ultrasound welding in collaboration with the KE micro institute at RWTH Aachen . In a first step, the mold cavity of the desired channel structure was milled into an aluminum alloy block via a precision milling machine (KOSY3 A3, MAXcomputer GmbH, Germany).…”

“…Consistent results of the analysis and the optical evaluation confirm the applicability to other systems as optical analysis tool. Furthermore, the fabricated mixers can be integrated into a modular construction set containing structures with different functions to build up a complete reaction system for laboratory applications [39].…”

“…For fluidic access, PVDF shrinking hoses were welded into the microchannel, as described in , . The hoses, with 0.6 and 1.2 mm inner and outer diameter, respectively, were shrunken onto a copper wire to prevent the hose from collapsing during the welding process.…”

“…Thus, the microreactors can be easily and quickly adapted to the process requirements. Manufacturing is carried out via ultrasonic hot embossing of a stack of thermoplastic polymer layers, and the sealing of the microchannels is realized by ultrasonic welding of a lid made of the same material .…”
