Abstract:A series of wire-like binuclear Ru(II) complexes, 10-13, of general formula [(tpy-C 6 H 4 -Me)(PPh 3 ) 2 RuÀ C�CÀ Ar-C�CÀ Ru-(PPh 3 ) 2 (tpy-C 6 H 4 -Me)] 2 + , (tpy-C 6 H 4 -Me = 4'(4-tolyl)-2,2'-6',2''-terpyridyl; Ar = thienyl, phenyl, benzothiadiazolyl and fluorenyl respectively) have been judiciously designed, developed and characterized by various spectroscopic tools.
