Abstract:We study the modulational instability of recently designed magneto-elastic metamaterials composed of elastic-mediated split-ring resonators (SRR). An effective circuit model is developed. Then four cases are studied: a dimer of SRR, one-dimension (1D) dimerized array, 1D uniform array and two-dimension layered array. It is found that except for the dimer case, all the other many-body cases can present modulational instability which may disturb the bistability (if any) under uniform assumption.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
