“…According to the results of this part ( Figure 3 b), there is an association between benzene and toluene removal efficiency and the studied factor, i.e., Fe 3 O 4 @ZIF-8 dosage; based on this, an increase in the adsorbent dosage from 0.1 to 0.75 g led to an improving removal efficiency from 44.7% to 98.4% for benzene and from 39.8% to 93.1% for toluene. In addition, a rapid enhancement was detected in benzene and toluene removal capacity by increasing the Fe 3 O 4 @ZIF-8 dose from 0.1 to 0.75 g. To explain the obtained result, it should be mentioned that although the number of available sites develops by increasing the adsorbent dosage, they remain unsaturated in the adsorption process [ 38 ]. Moreover, dosages above 0.75 g L −1 exhibited a slight effect on the adsorption capacity of Fe 3 O 4 @ZIF-8; according to this, 0.75 g L −1 was considered as the optimum dosage.…”

“…The adsorption method is considered the most efficient and economical due to its fast removal rate and minimum pretreatment of samples [ 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 ]. In recent years, various types of biocomposites have been used as biosorbents to remove heavy metals ions from solutions [ 10 , 11 , 12 ].…”

“…Ma et al [ 112 ] designed a renewable, inexpensive, and easy-to-assemble filter prepared by growing an MOF on wood, followed by high-temperature carbonization. The proposed filter demonstrated a superior dye removal performance and was expected to replace commercial activated carbon and to be successfully applied in practical wastewater treatment fields.…”
