SuminurgThe use of peaticades deniunds the asspssinent of the behuviour of rts residues on the treated plants and in the environnient. The ,fate of residues i s based on the biochemical degradation in plants, mikrobiological degradation in soils and the photolyzis i n atmosphere, on soils and in water. Besides these factors the physical-chemical processes play a role, such as the evaporation, the wash-off from the plants and the leaching i n deeper lagers of soil and i n the groundwater. Many models of the behavioiir of residues was developed i n the last years which are usual for prognoses. This is especially related to the leaching behaviour in the soi1,phytotozicity of herbicide residues, the fate of residues on plants and the uptake of residues froin the soil by plants.
