Moisture Comfort and Antibacterial Properties of Elastic Warp-Knitted Fabrics

Abstract: Multifunction elastic warp-knitted fabrics were fabricated on a crochet machine with the use of metal composite yarns/viscose yarn and bamboo polyester/ crisscross-section polyester hybrid yarns as the front face and back face of the knitted fabric structure, respectively. We investigated the effect of the blend ratio of bamboo charcoal/ crisscross-section polyester multiply yarns on the fabric's moisture comfort properties, such as water vapour transmission (WVT), water evaporation rate (WER), and water absor… Show more

“…Thermal comfort is the ability to maintain a constant body temperature through the thermal balance of the heat generated by a person's body and to transfer it to the atmospheric environment [1][2][3]. The thermo-physiological comfort of the clothing is mainly affected by its water evaporation and thermal resistance.…”

“…In recent years, various types of functional textiles produced have been produced, such as nonwoven [1][2][3][4], knitted [5], and woven fabrics [6,7]. Functional waterproof-breathable waterborne polyurethane WPU woven fabrics are widely developed owing to their advantages, such as non-toxicity, bio-degradability, and availability [8,9].…”

“…Comfort is an important factor to be considered in protective garment design. [10,11] The comfort properties of fabrics are generally classified into three groups, namely, thermo-physiological, tactile, and pressure comfort. [12,13] Among these factors, thermophysiological comfort is one of the first considerations during heavy work or in hot environments.…”
