Abstract:The acetylcholinesterase-inhibitory potential of the oleanane-type triterpenes and their glycosides from the Terminalia arjuna (Combreatceae) bark, i.e. arjunic acid, arjunolic acid, arjungenin, arjunglucoside I, sericic acid, and arjunetin, is presented. The studies are based on the in silico pharmacokinetic and biomimetic studies, the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitory activity tests, and the molecular docking research.
Based on the calculated pharmacokinetic parameters, arjunetin and arjunglucosi… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
