Molecular Characterization and Biological Function of a Novel LncRNA CRNG in Swine

Abstract: Our previous study has showed that a novel gene is differentially expressed in the liver of cyadox-fed piglets, but its sequence and function are unknown. Here, rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) and bioinformatics analysis showed that the novel gene is 953 bp without protein-coding ability and locates in chromosome 11. Hence, we identified the novel gene as long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and named it cyadox-related novel gene (CRNG). Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) showed that CRNG mainly distrib… Show more

“…Notably, the genes KITLG and EFNA1 are found in both the PI3K-Akt and P38 MAPK signaling pathways, suggesting that they may serve as common factors connecting these two pathways. CRNG disruption and overexpression, in conjunction with KITLG, have been observed to interact and engage in viral and pathogenic infections in PK-15 cells [ 30 ]. Furthermore, it has been observed that the down-regulation of EFNA1 expression exerts inhibitory effects on the three-dimensional growth of HT29 colon cancer cells [ 31 ].…”

“…Previous studies have also reported that exhibits a therapeutic effect in experimental colitis by inhibiting the CEBPB/PCK1 and CEBPB/EFNA1 pathways, which are associated with the PI3K-Akt and P38 MAPK pathways [ 32 ]. CRNG disruption and overexpression, in conjunction with KITLG, have been observed to interact and engage in viral and pathogenic infections in PK-15 cells [ 30 ]. The identification of DEGs in the PI3K-Akt and P38 MAPK pathways, particularly KITLG and EFNA1, suggests their potential significance in the context of PDCoV infection.…”

“…These results proved that OIP5-AS1 promotes the progression of NPC, at least in part, by inhibiting miR-203. On the one hand, considering that, lncRNA can regulate cell biological function in a variety of ways [ 40 , 41 ]. Therefore, we cannot deny that there may be other mechanisms which also mediate partial function of OIP5-AS1 on NPC.…”

“…The differential genes such as KITLG, FOXP3, miR-451, IL-2, IL-10, IL-6, and TNF-α are mainly involved in viral infection and the immuneinflammatory responses. These differential genes might play a role in preventing the host from being infected by viruses and exerting immune regulatory effects in the cytoplasm (Lu et al, 2019). NA is one of the two glycoproteins on the surface of influenza virus, which cleaves terminal sialic acid residues and promotes virus release from infected cells.…”
