Molecular characterization of equine infectious anaemia virus from a major outbreak in southeastern France

Abstract: SummaryIn 2009, a major outbreak of equine infectious anaemia (EIA) was reported in the south-east of France. This outbreak affected three premises located in the Var region where the index case, a 10-year-old mare that exhibited clinical signs consistent with EIA, occurred at a riding school. Overall, more than 250 horses were tested for EIAV (equine infectious anaemia virus) antibodies, using agar gel immunodiffusion test, and 16 horses were positive in three different holdings. Epidemiological survey confir… Show more

“…Phylogenetic analysis of 22 Slovenian sequences covering 222 nucleotides of the 5' LTR region and the gag gene, showed clustering together and the separation of Chinese and American sequences [37]. Also, phylogenetic analysis of 50 French sequences covering about 1.400 nucleotides of the gag gene clustered separating Chinese, American and Asian sequences from other European region sequences [58].…”

Lebih lanjut, penyebaran infeksi EIA di beberapa negara lainnya telah dilaporkan seperti tertuang pada Tabel 1.…”
