Molecular Characterization of Hairy Fleabane Using Rapd

Abstract: -With the increase of glyphosate resistance evolution in hairy fleabane, the knowledge of genetic diversity is essential to assist in the weed management. The objective was to characterize the genetic diversity of glyphosate resistant Conyza species in Rio Grande do Sul. Hairy fleabane biotype seeds were collected in fields of glyphosate-resistant soybean, generating seedlings used for extracting DNA from the leaves to perform a genetic diversity analysis, using the RAPD technique. The DNA was used in polymera… Show more

“…Em plantas daninhas, esta técnica é atrativa em um primeiro momento, pois não se necessita conhecer sobre a sequência nucleotídica da planta, fato comum às plantas daninhas. A técnica RAPD foi eficiente para agrupar diferentes biótipos de Conyza bonariensis devido a variabilidade genética, além de que todos os biótipos são mesmo da mesma espécie apresentado variedade distinta (Silva et al, 2016).…”

“…In Brazil, horseweed and hairy-fleabane (C. bonariensis) were first reported as GR weeds in 2005 [12], followed by Sumatran fleabane (C. sumatrensis) in 2010 [9]. Despite the importance of all Conyza species in Brazilian agricultural fields, molecular analyses demonstrated that GR C. bonariensis predominates in Southern Brazil [13]. Currently, the estimated area of GR Conyza spp.…”

“…(Souza et al, 2008); sugar apple (Annona squamosa L.) (Bharad;Kulwal;Bagal, 2009;Ahmad et al, 2010;Guimarães et al, 2013); Aloe ssp. (Shahira et al, 2016); Conyza bonariensis (Silva;Agostinetto;Vargas, 2016) and Abelmoschus species (Pravin;Shrikant;Venkataraman, 2018). The existence of the most recent molecular marker techniques does not underestimate the RAPD utility as a tool for the development of strategies, for the conservation of individuals and their seed collections (Santana et al, 2008;Gois, 2014a;Belarmino et al, 2017).…”
