Molecular characterization, tissue expression, and polymorphism analysis of liver-type fatty acid binding protein in Landes geese

Abstract: ABSTRACT. Liver weight is an important economic trait in the fatty goose liver industry. Liver-type fatty acid binding protein (L-FABP) is involved in the formation and metabolism of fatty acids. Thus, we hypothesized that sequence polymorphisms in L-FABP were associated with fatty liver weight in goose. We first isolated, sequenced, and characterized the goose L-FABP gene, which had not been previously reported.
