Molecular Collision Cross Section of the CHF3Molecule Due to Higher Order Interactions

Abstract: The lattice O{N) model, defined on a iarge but Unite three-dimensional cubic lattice, is studied using the Hamiltonian approach in bare perturbation theory in the broken phase.-Renormalization is carried out to O(Xo) and the results are compared with those obtained using the conventional Lagrangian approach in the infinite volume limit. Complete agreement is found between the two methods.

“…Studies of the pressure broadening coe¤cient C w (J 1 2 0 rotational line) of CHF 3 molecule colliding with noble gases and CH 4 or CCl 4 molecules have been reported earlier [24]. Only the dispersive, exchange and partly, inductive interactions % 1=b 10 were described, since the £uoroform molecule lacks a quadrupole moment q i 0.…”

“…Expressions appropriate for collisions of a symmetric molecule which exhibits a nonzero dipole moment and zero quadrupole moment, with noble gas and spherical molecules have been published [24]. Hence, for these interactions and including the inductive forces which occur whenever the quadrupole moment does not vanish, one may cast the Sb function as:…”
