Molecular complex of salicylic acid with glycyram

Abstract: Salicylic acid (SalA) is the simplest aromatic carboxylic acid, which had shown analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory activity. SalA is one of the most famous dermatological drugs with keratolytic, bacteriostatic, fungicidal, and photoprotective properties 1 .However, the use of SalA in medical practice is limited by its toxicity (salicylism) 1 . The great interest to molecular complexes of triterpene glycosides with different drugs is caused by the possibility to reduce of drugs doses, increase in bio… Show more

“…Such ratio was obtained for complex-es of GA and GC with several drugs [2]. However, a different composition (1:2) was found in the complex of GC with quercetin [6]. Due to hypsochromic shift, the absorption maximum of the solutions decreases from 258 to 252 nm (Fig.…”

“…Glycyrrhizic acid (GA) and its monoammonium salt (ammonium glycyrrhizate, glycyram, GC; Fig. 1) are widely used as complexing agents [2][3][4][5][6]. GA is the main triterpene saponin of licorice roots [2].…”
