Molecular design and synthesis of new dithiocarbazate complexes; crystal structure, bioactivities and nano studies

Abstract: New metal complexes are synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, spectroscopic, TGA and X-ray techniques. The compounds were evaluated in an in vitro cytotoxicity. Interaction of the samples with HSA was investigated.

“…When one mole of iron(III) chloride was reacted with two moles of the ligands, the same bis‐complex of composition [FeL 2 ]Cl (X = Cl ¯ or FeCl 4 ¯ ) was isolated. It may be noted that a complex similar to 3 but with FeCl 4 ¯ counterion has been synthesised already [40d] . All the iron(III) complexes are black crystalline solids, non‐hygroscopic, and air‐stable.…”

“…Closely related to thiosemicarbazones with NNS donor atoms are the Schiff base ligands of S ‐substituted dithiocarbazates (DTCs) with an NNS donor set, the metal complexes of which have been synthesized in recent years and their antitumor, antifungal, and antibacterial activities have been evaluated . They are easily prepared and are widely used as chelating ligands in the synthesis of a large variety of air‐stable metal complexes which possess potential applications in biochemical and pharmacological research .…”

“…There are three related homoleptic tin(IV) compounds that have been structurally characterised in the literature, namely the ethyl thioester and unsubstituted phenoxide residue [50], benzyl thioester, unsubstituted phenoxide residue and methyl bound to the imine-carbon [51] and benzyl thioester with a ferrocenyl substituent adjacent to the alkoxide-oxygen atom [44]. The contrasting and curious feature of the literature structures is that the thiolate- As seen in Fig.…”

“…Despite of the chemical similarities of thiosemicarbazones and dithiocarbazates [6], few studies involving isatin dithiocarbazates are available in the literature [7][8][9][10]. Interestingly, isatin derived thiosemicarbazones were investigated as inhibitors of parasitic cysteine proteases identified in trypanosomes (cruzain and rhodesain) and malaria parasites (falcipain-2), presenting a higher activity than their isatin precursors [2].…”
