Molecular detection of β-lactamase genes in Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli isolated from different clinical sources

Abstract: The rising occurrence of infections generated by Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae that produce extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) is reason for concern. Due to the recent emergence of multidrug-resistant microorganisms that develop ESBL. The purpose of this work was to detect the ESBLs in clinical isolates of E. coli and K. pneumoniae. 118 samples of E. coli and 63 isolates of K. pneumoniae were collected from clinical samples. Polymerase chain reaction was used to detect β-lactamase genes (i.e., b… Show more

“…The GeneAll® ExgeneTM for Clinic Cell SV small kit was used to separate and purify the genomic DNA from the adductor muscle (Songpa-gu, Seoul, Korea). The amount of genomic DNA was extracted before PCR was determined by agar gel electrophoresis [15]. To ascertain the quantity and quality of DNA, the Nano Drop 1000 spectrophotometer was equipped to detect the optical density of a DNA sample as well as the concentration and purity of genomic DNA extraction.…”

“…Genomic DNA from adductor muscle was isolated and purified using the GeneAll® ExgeneTM for Clinic Cell SV small kit (Songpa-gu, Seoul, Korea). Agar gel electrophoresis was used to gauge the amount of genomic DNA that had been extracted before PCR 19 . The Nano Drop 1000 spectrophotometer is prepared to measure the optical density of a DNA sample as well as the concentration and purity of genomic DNA extraction to determine the amount and purity of DNA.…”
