“…This virus is one of the most destructive viruses, responsible for numerous epidemics in different regions of the world, and cause heavy economic losses (Parrella et al, 2003). In the Republic of Srpska (district of Bosnia and Herzegovina), until now TSWV was detected in pepper plants from greenhouses and tobacco plants from open field (Delić et al, 2017) and also confirmed the presence of western flower thrips (WFT), Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) and tobacco thrips, Thrips tabaci (Linderman) in greenhouses in Herzegovina region (Trkulja et al, 2013;Kohnić et al, 2006). The highly polyphagous nature, the efficiency of virus transmission and the biological activity of its vectors, the rapidity with which new variants arise, and difficulties in the control of the vectors, make TSWV one of the most feared plant viruses by growers of agricultural crops.…”

“…Más bien, se constató que estaban afectadas por coinfecciones de uno o varios virus, entre ellos TSWV, CMV, PVY y TMV 143 . En Serbia, de un total de 26 muestras foliares de tabaco comercial y analizadas mediante técnicas serológicas y moleculares, se encontró que 25 fueron positivas para TSWV 144 . La incidencia de las infecciones virales depende de diferentes factores como del cultivar usado, la edad de las plantas, prácticas de manejo, entre otros componentes.…”

“…To our knowledge, this is the first report of TSWV infecting chrysanthemum in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Since chrysanthemum production is very profitable in west Herzegovina, considering the prevalence of Frankliniella occidentalis, one of the vectors of TSWV (Delić et al 2018), the presence of TSWV may have a negative impact on chrysanthemum production in the area.…”
