Molecular modeling, docking and protein-protein interaction analysis of MAPK signalling cascade involved in Camalexin biosynthesis in Brassica rapa

Abstract: Phytoalexins are small antimicrobial molecules synthesized and accumulated by plants upon exposure to pathogens. Camalexin is an indole-derived phytoalexin, which is accumulated in plants including Arabidopsis thaliana, and other Brassicaceae, which plays a major role in disease resistance against fungal pathogens. The productivity of Brassica crops is adversely affected by Alternaria blight disease, which is caused by Alternaria brassicae. In Arabidopsis thaliana, MAP kinase signalling cascade is known to be … Show more

“…Additionally, MATE-type proteins, which have a high level of genetic co-occurrence, suggest that the protein is an essential component of an organism's ability to survive [44,45]. So MATE genes can be considered as a lifesaving genomic component that is structurally and functionally conserved across species [46]. e importance of these evolutionary signals in knowing the fundamental architect of wheat genes cannot be overstated.…”

“…The docking scores, approximate interface protein–ligand complex area and values of atomic contact energy (ACE) (kJ/mol) were recorded for the proposed inhibitor ligands. The docking mode of enzyme inhibition was selected, and the root-mean-square deviations of atomic positions were 1.5 [ 37 ]. The results were analyzed by using UCSF Chimera 1.14 [ 38 ].…”

“…Some features such as likeness in the Gene Ontology (GO) term annotation, co-expression, sequence and the existence of possibly interacting domains of the protein pair under many conditions or numerous tissues have been revealed to be applicable predictors of protein-protein interactions [19]. For the prediction of PPIs, physical docking methods recently were revealed to create good outcomes [20]. However, this technique is restricted by the computational complication and the tertiary configuration of the big number of proteins has not yet been identified [21].…”
