Abstract:Protein catalyzed capture agents are an emerging class of oligopeptides that combine the benefits of small molecules and antibodies to furnish ligands with picomolar binding affinity, serum stability, and cell permeability. Their identification involves screening a synthetic, alkyne-functionalized epitope from a target protein against a library of cyclic peptides bearing terminal azides. We identified ligands that bind regions of superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1), a protein that misfolds to cause amyotrophic later… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
