“…As could be expected, in the only study which includes a species of the Habenaria pectinata group, the Asian alpine H. intermedia is resolved as sister to the African montane H. praestans Rendle (Jin et al, 2014) (both species belong to H. sect. Multipartitae).…”

“…Habenaria and Orchis clades are two major groups of Chinese Orchidoideae. The genera and relationships within these two clades (93) are supported, although the relationships within these two clades do not have high PP, and the topologies are not entirely consistent with the results obtained in recent phylogenetic studies (Jin et al, ; Raskoti et al, ; Tang et al, ), in which the phylogenetic relationships of these clades, including additional Asian groups, were constructed based on additional DNA markers. A number of changes in the Chinese generic circumscription have been recognized, with Galearis expanded to include Aceratorchis and Chondradenia , and Platanthera expanded to include Diphylax and Smithorchis .…”

“…A number of changes in the Chinese generic circumscription have been recognized, with Galearis expanded to include Aceratorchis and Chondradenia , and Platanthera expanded to include Diphylax and Smithorchis . In addition, two new genera ( Hsenhsua and Tsaiorchis ) have been added (Jin et al, ). Herminium has been expanded to include Androcorys , Bhutanthera , Frigidorchis , and Porolabium (Raskoti et al, ); Hemipilia has been expanded to include Amitostigma , Hemipiliopsis , Neottianthe , Ponerorchis , and Tsaiorchis (Tang et al, ).…”

“…Various classification systems have been proposed based on results of morphological studies (e.g., Pfitzer 1887; Dressler & Dodson 1960;Dressler 1993;Szlachetko 1995). Genetic research has not resolved doubts about the separateness of Orchidinae and Habenariinae; moreover, generic delimitation within Habenaria and its closest relatives is still not determined (Inda et al 2010;2012;Batista et al 2013;Jin et al 2014). In its currently accepted concept, Habenaria is clearly polyphyletic and some smaller, morphologically clearly defined genera should be delimited within this taxon.…”
