Molybdenum Determination of Soils and Rocks with Dithiol

Abstract: A simple colorimetric method is presented for the determination of submicrogram traces of molybdenum in soils and rocks. The procedure is developed on the extractable green complex formed between molybdenum and dithiol. Interference by ferric iron is eliminated by reduction with potassium iodide and sodium thiosulfate. Isoamyl acetate extracts of the molybdenum-dithiol complex are color-stable. Photometric measurements permit accurate determinations over the range of 0.02 to 10 y of molybdenum in mineral mater… Show more

“…Subsequently, the M-cluster was extracted from 1.5 g of NifEN M and 1.5 g of NifDK, respectively, into NMF by a previously described acid-treatment method (23). Iron and molybdenum were determined as published (24,25). The Fe/Mo ratios of M-cluster NifEN and M-cluster NifDK are 6.9 and 7.3, respectively (Table 1).…”

“…Cell growth, protein purification, preparation of apo Fe protein, FeMoco maturation assay, metal analysis, visible region absorption, EPR and x-ray spectroscopies were performed as described (13,17,18,24,33,34 AMPPNP . These were control assays with the same conditions as i except that ATP was replaced by 2.4 mM ADP, adenosine 5Ј-O-(3-thiotriphosphate) (ATP␥S) or 5Ј-adenylylimidodiphosphate (AMPPNP).…”
