The study focused on Monitoring and Evaluation practices on the performance of Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM). The specific objectives were: to assess the effects of Surveillance monitoring on the performance of IMAM, to determine the impact of Implementation monitoring on the performance of IMAM, and to analyze the effects of evaluation relevance on the performance of IMAM. The study was conducted in the County of Kajiado in Kenya. The descriptive design was adopted and involved a mixed-method approach. A target population of 54 and a sample size of 48 were used to obtain data. Purposive sampling was used, whereas data were gathered using a close-ended questionnaire and structured interview. Data were analyzed using Mean and Standard Deviation, Pearson Correlation, and Multiple Regression. The study found that surveillance monitoring, implementation monitoring, and evaluation relevance affected the performance of IMAM. The correlation coefficient was 0.872, 0.889, and 0.864, respectively, Sig. 0.000, p <0.05, which meant the relationship between surveillance monitoring, implementation monitoring, evaluation relevance, and performance of IMAM project was strong. The regression analysis showed that surveillance monitoring positively and significantly affects the performance of IMAM by 37.3%, implementation monitoring impacts positively and significantly the performance of IMAM by 59.2%, and evaluation relevance positively and significantly affects the performance of IMAM by 25.7%. These quantitative results were supported by the qualitative results. The study concluded that surveillance monitoring, implementation monitoring, and evaluation relevance statements affect the performance of IMAM and recommended the government and project managers increase surveillance monitoring in projects, enhance implementation monitoring in projects and enhance evaluation relevance in projects by making sure that there are clear Indicators of evaluation and well-thought significance of evaluation.

The study sought to establish the relationship between monitoring and evaluation practices and performance of County Maternal Health programmes in Kenya. The combined monitoring and evaluation practices included planning for M&E, stakeholder engagement, capacity building for M&E, and M&E data use. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. To obtain 282 respondents, stratified random sampling was used. A self-administered structured questionnaire was the study's research instrument. Using descriptive narratives, qualitative data was analyzed within specific themes. Quantitative data was analyzed descriptively using measures of central tendencies and measures of dispersion. Regression was conducted for testing the study hypotheses. Data was presented using frequency tables. The study found that stakeholders’ engagement in M&E and capacity building for M&E influenced the performance of County Maternal Health Programmes in Kenya. The study also found that the respondents agreed that planning for M&E and the data management for M&E. This implied that the combined monitoring and evaluation practices influence performance of County Maternal Health Programmes in Kenya.The study found a strong correlation between the performance of county maternal health programmes and combined monitoring and evaluation practices. The study concluded that combined planning for M&E monitoring and evaluation practices influenced the performance of county maternal health programmes. The study suggests that management develop an effective methodology as well as raise awareness of M&E activities for the success of the project. The study also suggests that human resources issues such as workers charged with monitoring and evaluation ought to have technical capabilities, and roles and duties of monitoring and evaluation personnel should be outlined at the start of projects. To ensure M&E sustainability health sector reforms, investments in strong and vibrant technical harmonization platforms that can sustain the change agenda at all times and every required level.

This study analysed the monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS prevention programmes in the Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State, Nigeria. The study considered different levels of care/support and tested for locational variations in the monitoring/evaluation of HIV/AIDs prevention programmes. A descriptive survey design was utilised. This study covered 596 public health employees (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and laboratory employees) in the study area. Using the proportional stratified random sampling procedure, a sample of 239 respondents was chosen. Data was collected using a questionnaire constructed by the researchers and validated by specialists. Data gathered were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results indicated that HIV/AIDs programmes had been successfully monitored/evaluated to a high extent. High success rates in the monitoring/evaluation of HIV/AIDs prevention programmes are attributable to high rates of care/support provided to people living with HIV/AIDs. There was a significant variation in the monitoring/evaluation of HIV/AIDs prevention programmes based on the location of health facilities, with higher rates recorded for urban areas. Based on the findings, it was concluded that the monitoring/evaluation of HIV/AIDs prevention programmes in the Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State had recorded a significant level of success. The study recommended, among others, that there should be even distribution of medical facilities, resources and personnel to both urban and rural areas to promote equity and access to materials needed to contain or mitigate the spread of the pandemic across all locations.
