“…Imidacloprid and acetamiprid are extensively used in pest management of different crops (Abdallah, Hanafi, et al, ; Abdallah, Abdel Ghani, & Hrouzková, ), and the neonicotinoid family share heralded by imidacloprid is 20% of the current insecticide market (Kagabu, ). The obtained results are in agreement with those obtained by El‐Saeid and Al‐Dosari () for a survey of pesticide residues in date fruits from a market in Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia. They detected fungicide, insecticide and herbicide residue concentrations that violated the MRL values in some samples.…”

“…This is the first study to identify and quantify 42 pesticides in dates using a QuEChERS and LC‐MS/MS technique. No published data exists on monitoring and evaluating the hazards of pesticide residues in dates in Saudi Arabia with the exception of a study performed by El‐Saeid and Al‐Dosari (). The main goals of the present study were to validate a simple, multi‐residue method based on liquid–liquid extraction and LC‐MS/MS techniques to identify and quantify 42 pesticides in dates collected from large markets in Saudi Arabia and to assess their health impact on consumers.…”

“…Synthetic insecticides have been used to manage the populations of R. ferrugineus (Aljabr et al 2014; Al‐Shawaf et al 2010; Shar et al 2012). Although several insecticides have been found to be potent, environmental pollution and development of insecticide resistance limit their efficacy on red palm weevils (Al‐Ayedh et al 2016; EL‐Saeid & AL‐Dosary 2010; Kamel et al 2007). Al‐Ayedh et al (2016) mentioned that synthetic pesticides do not provide an effective control on R. ferrugineus .…”

“…The detection principle of AChE biosensor is based on the changes in the activity of AChE composure to the pesticides before and after. Following enzymatically catalysed hydrolysis of acetylthiocholine, the oxidation current of thiocholine is produced and monitored by instrument [18]. Scognamiglio et al have designed and developed a miniaturized multitask biosensor array system for the detection of endocrine disrupting chemicals which is equipped with an optical excitation detection system, a current measurement and flow control system [19].…”
