Monitoring soil slope of tropical residual soil by using tree water uptake method

Abstract: From years to years, the construction of residential buildings at hill-site in Malaysia will lead to various fatalities event. Cutting down of trees can vanish the reinforcement provided by the root of tree to the soil by means of weakening the soil shear strength due to the increasing value of pore water pressure and decreasing value of effective stress. Root of a tree plays an important part in preventing landslides event to occur either it is by modifying the soil moisture regime via evapotranspiration or p… Show more

“…British Soil Classi cation System (BSCS), the soil at the site study at the eld can be categorized as SILT of high plasticity (MHS) with a relative density of 2.74. As stated by Zaini et. al., (2020a), owing to a wide modi cation of metallurgy, the relative density of tropical residual soils is commonly low or uncommonly high.…”

“…Engineers and geotechnical researchers may be able to work together more quickly and safely through the utilization of UAVs since they enhance their ability to detect possible slope failures, critical slopes, and slope hazards, as stated by Zolkepli et al [10], Ishak, & Zolkepli [11], Zolkepli et al [12], and Bar et al [13]. UAV flight technology has enabled the acquisition of high-resolution, real-time aerial pictures for photogrammetry to detect the location of potential slope hazards [14], [15].…”
