Abstract: The inner membrane associated protein of 30 kDa (IM30), a member of the endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT‐III) superfamily, is crucially involved in the biogenesis and maintenance of thylakoid membranes in cyanobacteria and chloroplasts.
