Monte Carlo Simulation of Particle's Dispersion in Convective Boundary Layer of the Atmosphere

Abstract: A stochastic Lagrangian model of motion of falling particles in a locally isotropic incompressible turbulent flow is implemented. A detailed description of the model in the case of convective boundary layer is given. A series of calculations are carried out to find different statistical characteristics (such as the mean center of the cloud, dispersion around the center, the mean concentration in a layer, etc.) for different particle's sizes.
