Monte Carlo simulations of biaxial ordering in systems of uniaxially interacting rodlike ellipsoids

Abstract: The minimal ingredient to generate a biaxial liquid crystalline ordering is usually considered to be the strongly biaxial interactions breaking the cylindrical symmetry of the uniaxial molecules.
