This aligns with theoretical accounts highlighting the importance of moral development in emerging adulthood, which in turn impacts friendships, navigating peer groups, responding to social boundaries, experiencing culture, developing identity, and maintaining well-being (Eisenberg et al, 2014; Lapsley et al, 2023; Reynolds & Ceranic, 2007).
