Tumor pathologies of the prostate gland are represented by benign prostate tumor and prostate cancer and are generally seen after 50 years. The objective of this work was to study the epidemiological, clinical, paraclinical and therapeutic aspects of prostate tumors at the General Reference Hospital of Panzi (DRC). Patients and Methods: Retrospective cross-sectional study on 70 patients followed in hospital or on an outpatient basis for prostate tumor in the urology department of the General Reference Hospital of Panzi from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2017. The epidemiological, clinical and paraclinical parameters (pathology with Gleason score, prostate volume on ultrasound, urinary impact on ultrasound, urea level, creatinine level and PSA level) and therapeutics were studied. Results: Prostate tumors represent 3.84% of surgical pathologies. The average age of the patients was 68.2 years with the extremes of 47 and 90 years old. The patients were transferred in 78.6% of the cases. Acute urine retention was the most common reason for consultation with 42.8%. The PSA rate > 4 ηg in 92.9% of the cases. Benign prostatic hyperplasia was found in 62.8% of patients against 35.7% of prostate adenocarcinoma and 41.7% of prostate cancers were moderately differentiated. The prostate volume was 41 -60 g in 35.7% of the cases. No urinary impact in 71.4% of patients. Surgical treatment was in 85.7% and RTUP was the most used at 40%. A hospital stay between 15 and 21 days in 30% of cases. The cure rate was 81.4% and 14.3% developed urethral stenosis. Conclusion: Prostate tumors are common in people over the age of 50 who see for acute retention of urine. Benign enlarged prostate is the most common.

Goal: To determine the type of comorbidity and highlight the complications of adenomectomy and comorbidities. Material and Methods: This is a prospective, descriptive, cross-sectional study lasting six (6) months, from July 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022. Patients with BPH on comorbidity condition taken care of during the study period AND have agreed to participate in the study. Results: During our study, 49 cases of benign prostatic hypertrophy with comorbidities were collected, representing a frequency of 29%. The average age ranges for the patients were 43 -70 years. The age group most affected was 70 to 79 years old (38.80%). Nocturnal urinary frequency was the main reason for consultation present in all our patients. The most frequent comorbidity was hypertension, i.e. 83.70%. The PSA rate between 4 and 10 was the most represented, i.e. 42.86%. The prostate volume was between 61 and 100 ml in 40.82% of patients. Histology showed that it was a benign adenomatous hypertrophy of the prostate in 85.70% and a prostatic adenomyoma in 14.29%.Trans-bladder adenomectomy alone was the most performed technique, i.e. 49%, followed by trans urethral resection of the prostate, i.e. 38.80%. Retention of urine after removal of the catheter was the most observed complication, i.e. 12.20%. Conclusion: Benign prostatic hypertrophy with comorbidities constitutes a frequent association. Because their presence can affect effectiveness and lead to complications.

Background: The urology department of the Teaching Hospital of Kara is the 2nd urology department in Togo, Kara being a semi-urban town located 400 km from Lomé the capital. While for a long time only open surgery was used, the acquisition of urological endoscopic equipment in February 2021, has revolutionized the urological management of patients. Objective: Report the results of the first 15 months of urological endoscopy practice at the Kara Teaching Hospital, identify the particularities, announce the prospects. Patients and Methods. This was a retrospective and descriptive study, which took place in the urology department of the Kara Teaching Hospital, from February 2021 to April 2022, i.e. a period of 15 months. The register of operative reports and patient records were used for data collection. The following parameters were studied: age, sex, diagnosis, indication, diagnostic or therapeutic nature of the procedure, and results. EPI INFO 7.2.4.0 software was used for data analysis. Results: A total of 102 urological procedures (endoscopic and non-endoscopic) were performed during the study period; of the 102 interventions, 62 were endoscopic urological interventions, i.e., 60.
