Abstract:Summary: Exploration of the common bile duct via transduodenal sphincteroplasty is thorough and provides an opportunity for the natural passage of retained calculi. However, this procedure destroys both the sphincter ampulla and sphincter choledochus, the sequelae of which are unknown.
