More active and less fit: changes in physical activity in the adult Norwegian population from 1985 to 2011

Abstract: PURPOSEThe purpose of this article is to describe and attempt to explain changes in physical activity during the leisure time of Norwegian adults, 15 years and above, for the period from 1985-2011. The focus is on changes in the total activity level in leisure time i , as well as activity patterns in subgroups defined by age, sex, education, income and occupation. The article also examines factors influencing the changes and looks at both life stage affects and cohort effects. BACKGROUND
