“…Total WBC counts were determined as the frequency of WBCs per 1,000 erythrocytes that were randomly observed on each slide (Lajmanovich et al 2005). Differential WBC counts were determined by counting 200 WBCs and recording proportions of lymphocyte, monocyte, eosinophil, basophil, and heterophil (Casal and Orós 2007).
