Morphological and Physiological Performances of 18 Soybean Varieties Exposed to Salinity Stress

Abstract: Increasing soybean production can be done by growing the crops in marginal soil, such as saline soil. Therefore, saline-tolerant genotypes are important to support the cultivation. The objective of the experiment was to evaluate the performance of 18 soybean varieties grown under salinity stress. The experiment was done from May to July 2021 at the greenhouse of the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Bengkulu University, about 10 m above sea level. Soybean seedlings were grown in 10 cm diameter pl… Show more

“…The Devon-1 cultivar has a potential yield of about 3.09 t ha -1 , a weight of around 14.3 g 100 grains -1 , it is vulnerable to attacks by grey leafworm pests (S. litura), resistant to leaf rust disease, moderately resistant to pod-sucking pests (R. linearis), and relatively resistant to lodging. Dena-1 and Devon-1 are cultivars tolerant to salinity stress [8]. This study is to evaluate the damage intensity of pod borer attack and how it affects the yields on seven soybeans cultivar in a mahogany and pine agroforestry.…”
