Morphology and photoelectrochemical behaviour of CdSe/ZnO composites obtained by the screen printing technique

Abstract: We report the morphology and photoelectrochemical (PEC) behaviour of CdSe/ZnO composite coatings prepared by the screen-printing and sintering technique. Precipitates of two different chemical baths were used for the screen-printing process. Atomic force microscopy images show that the topography of the composite coatings depends on the precipitate. Superior PEC performance and stability are obtained for the composite based on the precipitate of a dimethyl selenourea bath, which has a well formed polycrystalli… Show more

“…SeU was used as a Se source of metal chalcogenide. 22,23 First, SeU is added to P3HT:CdSe-py in solution for the ligand exchange. Then, P3HT:CdSe-SeU solution is spin-coated to prepare the thin lm where the interconnection of CdSe nanorods in the nanoscale range is obtained.…”

“…Equipments required are simple and within the financial scope of most laboratories. Screen printing is a viable and economical method to produce thick films of various materials which has been used to produce varistors, actuators, solar cells etc (Rincon et al 1999).…”

“…But for all practical applications, a good quality thick film pattern of nanosized ZnO particles is more desirable than colloidal samples. Screen printing is a viable and economical method to produce thick films of various materials which has been used to produce varistors, actuators, solar cells etc (Rincón et al 1999). The powder extracted is characterized and a thick film paste is prepared by adding suitable binder and solvent.…”
