Mortality after proximal hip fracture in the Singapore population

Abstract: The aims were to prospectively assess the mortality risk following proximal hip fractures, identify factors predictive of increased mortality and to investigate the time trends in mortality with comparison to previous studies. Prospectively collected data from 68 consecutive patients who had been admitted to a regional hospital from May 2001 to September 2001 were reviewed.
