“…As reported in the literature, 35,36 the rst step in the reduction occurs above the temperatures of 500 C. The use of CH 4 as reductant in this study accelerated the reduction, probably due to the activation and spill over of hydrogen from the metal centers to the iron phosphate.…”

“…The lower IS is about 0.326 mm s À1 at 300 K which in the experimental error range is close to the value 0.31 mm s À1 , which was previously reported for tetrahedral coordinated iron embedded in a-FePO 4 . 39 The higher IS component can be assigned to iron in a higher coordination like fivefold, which is predicted by the proposed model. It is also worth mentioning that the distribution of IV Fe 3+ hyperfine interaction parameters is narrower than the distribution of V Fe 3+ , which suggests a higher order of the tetrahedral Fe 3+ surroundings.…”

“…Mössbauer spectroscopy : The Mössbauer spectrometer was a homemade apparatus using a 2 GBq 57 Co/Rh γ‐ray source and a conventional constant acceleration Mössbauer spectrometer . The solid samples were diluted in sucrose at about 50 wt % concentration and pressed into discs.…”
