“…Moreover, the bond was similar between treatments at least after lambing, as it was demonstrated with the MBS test. These findings corroborate our previous conclusions (Freitas-de-Melo et al, 2015) that Figure 7 Serum total protein (a), albumin (b) and globulin (c) concentrations (mean ± SEM) before and after weaning (weaning: day 65) of the lambs reared by ewes that grazed on high (HPA) (black bars) or low (LPA) (grey bars) native pasture allowances from 23 days before conception until 122 days of gestation. The change in the serum albumin concentration between before and after weaning was greater in the HPA lambs than in the LPA lambs (P = 0.01).…”

“…The pasture allowance affected BW and BCS of ewes; however, it did not affect the BW of the lambs and their behaviours at birth. The drastic increase in nutrient supply during late gestation -the period of greatest increase in foetal weight (Rattray et al, 2007) -may have alleviated any potential negative effects of LPA on lambs' birth weight and ewe-lamb behaviours at lambing (Freitas-de-Melo et al, 2015). However, milk yield and some lambs' responses to weaning were affected by treatment.…”
