This article indicates optimal local, social, economic and geographical relationships contributing to the effective implementation of hotel investment as a part of rural area revitalisation. This will be undertaken through the case studies of four hotels functioning in revitalized historical buildings in the rural areas of Pomerania Province. A 'multiple case study' will be performed based on the following methods: 1) the desk study of the data concerning the activity of the hotels; 2) a micro-and meso-scale cartographic inventory; 3) structured individual in-depth interviews with hotel owners and managers, as well as with the authorities and officials responsible for the promotion of the communes where the hotels are situated.

Artykuł służy wskazaniu optymalnych lokalnych relacji społecznych, gospodarczych i geograficznych, sprzyjających efektywnej realizacji inwestycji hotelarskich w ramach rewitalizacji obszarów wiejskich. Wskazany cel zostanie osiągnięty poprzez studia przypadków czterech hoteli działających w zrewitalizowanych obiektach zabytkowych na terenach wiejskich województwa pomorskiego. Wielokrotne studium przypadku zostanie wykonane w oparciu o złożenie następujących metod: 1) analizy danych zastanych dotyczących działalności badanych hoteli, 2) inwentaryzacji kartograficznej obszarów w skali mikro i mezo, na których zlokalizowane są badane hotele, 3) strukturyzowanych indywidualnych wywiadów pogłębionych z właścicielami lub zarządzającymi badanymi hotelami oraz wójtami lub odpowiedzialnymi za promocję pracownikami urzędów gmin, na terenie których działają badane hotele.

Properly prepared accommodation base, apart from specific tourist values, world situation and advanced infrastructure, has a great impact on contemporary tourism development. The paper focuses on main features of Lower Silesian tourist accommodation establishments founded in entered into the heritage register castles and palaces. As observed, tourist base is subject to dynamic changes and stands out with susceptibility to various factors, hence new types of lodgings with specific characteristics appear. One of the tendencies is growing interest in historical landmarks overnight stays. Simultaneously, the voivodeship, as the only one in Poland, despite ongoing pandemic, recorded increase in the number of accommodation enterprises. Therefore, it seems that there is a great need for further research aimed at understanding the potential and trends in such complexes creation.
