Abstract: Beach changes in Kugami area of the Iwami coast in Tottori Prefecture were investigated through the comparison of bottom sounding data and field observation. This coast is a pocket beach of 2.2km length. On the west end of the beach, a breakwater of the Higashi fishing port was extended, resulting in the formation of wave calm zone behind the breakwater.
