Abstract: Chronic pain is a complex, debilitating, and escalating health problem worldwide, impacting one in five adults. Current treatment is compromised by dose-limiting side effects including high abuse liability, loss of ability to function socially and professionally, fatigue, drowsiness, and apathy.
