Abstract:This paper presents the study of a sensorless speed controlled Doubly-Fed Induction Machine (DFIM) using a Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS). Various Stator Flux Voltage Models found in literature were implemented on a DFIM driven by a rotor side matrix converter. Simulation results for the sensorless closed loop control are presented in the range of operation of a typical wind turbine and rotor angle/speed estimates are presented for each of the Voltage Models.
