It was studied 65 patients with type 2 diabetes: 12 patients without cardiovascular disease, 14 —with subclinical, 18 — with functional, 21 — with functional-organic stage of diabetic cardiovascularautonomic neuropathy. Type 2 diabetes without a cardiovascular disease is characterized by atendency to increase the arterial wall stiffness. The subclinical stage of diabetic autonomic neuropathyis characterized by increased pulse wave velocity in the aorta (PWVao). The functional stagecharacterized by an increase of the index of augmentation in aortic and brachial arteries, PWVao,ambulatory arterial stiffness index. Functional- organic stage is characterized by pathological changesof the arterial wall striffnesss. The diabetic cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy is accompanied byincreased of insulin resistance, insulin, HOMA-IR, NT-proBNP. There is a direct correlation betweenNT-proBNP, left ventricular mass and PWVao
