Abstract:Introduction: Several disparate mucocutaneous diseases present oral mucosal lesions that have been classically labeled as “pre-cancerous,” “pre-malignant,” or “potentially malignant” These include oral lichen planus, dyskeratosis congenita, tertiary syphilitic glossitis chronic graft-versus-host-disease, and oral discoid lupus erythematosus.
