Editors,We previously reported the results of a large (n = 3000) US populationbased study on rumination syndrome, which suggested overlap with functional dyspepsia greater than expected by chance and, possibly, a common underlying pathophysiological explanation based on a similar risk factor profile. 1 We have since conducted a meta-analysis to determine what relationship exists between rumination syndrome and eosinophilic duodenitis (EoD). We conducted a systematic literature search of MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science, SCOPUS and Cochrane Library until 9 March 2023 following the PRISMA guidelines with two independent reviews (MI, GE). 2 We included only published full-text papers.The search strategy involved combinations of 'rumination syndrome', 'functional gut or gastrointestinal ', 'eosinophilia', 'eosinophil', 'acidophil', 'duodenum', 'gastric' and 'stomach' and included non-English language publications.
