“…However, it is challenging to distinguish overt hyper/hypothyroidism from subclinical hyper/hypothyroidism or to detect central hypothyroidism by measuring only the TSH value. Woo et al developed a novel method to measure T4, T3, and TSH simultaneously from the same sample using a combination of multi-immunoreaction-based dual-color capillary electrophoresis and a dual-color laser-induced fluorescence technique [ 25 ]. They showed this method had high detection sensitivity and required a short measurement time.…”

“…To improve the throughput of CE-LIF, Woo et al built up a CE coupled with dual color LIF (Figure ). This instrumental setup allows the simultaneous detection of thyroxine (T4), triiodothyronine (T3), and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) in a single run of CE for enhancing diagnosis of thyroid gland disease. Interestingly, they also showed that the complex of antibody-T4 could be efficiently separated from the antibody and the antibody–TSH complexes, although the molecular sizes of these species mainly determined by the antibodies are approximately same.…”

“…The LOD at S/N = 3 was reported as being in sub μg/L concentrations. Other studies on the detection of thyroxine have used CE‐CL . The assay was based on the reaction between luminol and KMnO 4 in alkaline solution.…”
