Multi-Points Indoor Air Quality Monitoring Based on Internet of Things

Abstract: Indoor air quality monitoring is of great importance to human health as people typically spend more than 90% of their time in indoor environments. An indoor air quality detector (IAQD) enabling measurement of CO2, PM2.5, temperature, humidity, has been designed and tested in residential buildings based on Internet of Things (IoT). The hardware and software design of IAQD are described in detail, and seven IAQDs with Zigbee wireless module embedded were deployed in the target building for a continuous period of… Show more

“…In order to study the performance of the system, certain assumptions are enacted, which do not change the holistic effect [35]. Then, combining with thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer laws [35][36][37], the nonlinear dynamic model of the AHU can be written as (1).…”

“…The system's technical features were tested in the office environment, and provided great platform for future research, but more focused investigation is still required to better understand air quality indications and the effect on the users. Studies [30] and [31] also provided IoT based air quality system development, but their application was tested specifically for residential circumstances. Study [30] proposed an open source system for monitoring air parameters, i.e.…”

“…It also put an emphasis on the energy consumption and efficiency of the model. An IoT based monitoring system was proposed by Zhibin Liu1 [10] using Zigbee for monitoring of indoor air quality which monitors PM2.5, CO2, temperature & humidity. The data collected through IoT devices are shared using GPRS / 4G Network.…”
