Multi-terminal dc grid overall control with modular multilevel converters

Abstract: This paper presents a control philosophy for multiterminal DC grids, which are embedded in the main AC grid. DC transmission lines maintain higher power flow at longer distances compared with AC lines. The voltage losses are also much lower. DC power transmission is good option for Russian north. Arctic seashore regions of Russia don't have well developed electrical infrastructure therefore power line lengths are significant there. Considering above it is possible to use DC grids for supply mining enterprises … Show more

“…The vacuum system (block II) included a turbomolecular pump that allowed one to achieve the maximum vacuum level of 5 × 10 −8 Torr. High stability of the discharge conditions were achieved via the implementation of a long degassing cycle at the temperature of 700 K. The optical unit III consisted of the monochromator (7), the diaphragm (8), condenser lens (9), and a data processing system (10). and optical measurement purposes.…”

“…For the effective operation of such nuclear power plants, a wide range of reliable electronic devices including, but not limited to, current and voltage stabilizers, generators, rectifiers, and key elements that are capable of operating at temperatures above 1000 K and high radiation levels are required. This problem cannot be solved by traditional semiconductor devices [7]; only gas discharge devices satisfy these requirements.…”

“…The use of storage batteries for leveling the electricity consumption schedule of enterprises is described in [63]. The article presents the results of modeling an electrical complex using a hybrid ESS; however, the choice of the optimal power of an ESS is not considered.…”

“…Based on a comparative analysis of the use of different energy sources to power the auxiliary inverter, presented in [30], the PMSM topology using a floating bridge capacitor is the most promising solution for use in a vehicle, because, in comparison with topologies using a single energy source, does not contribute to zero sequence currents, and in comparison, with systems where the auxiliary inverter is powered from an additional accumulator. In the papers [31,32], the peculiarities of selecting inverters for electric drive systems were considered. In the paper [33], the influence of the electric drive system on the source of supply voltage was evaluated.…”
