Multi-wavelength observation of MAXI J1820+070 with MAGIC, VERITAS and H.E.S.S

E. Molina,
M. López
et al.

Abstract: MAXI J1820+070 is a new low-mass microquasar hosting a black hole recently discovered in X-rays by the MAXI instrument. It is the counterpart of ASASSN-18ey, discovered in optical a few days before by ASAS-SN. This source underwent a major outburst in 2018, during which it completed the typical "q-shaped" path in the hardness-intensity diagram. MAGIC, VERITAS and H.E.S.S. gamma-ray telescopes observed the sky position of MAXI J1820+070 for a total of more than 90 hours in 2018. In addition, some observations w… Show more

“…We further compare our predicted spectrum in Fig. 11 to the upper limits set by Fermi/LAT and the Cherenkov telescopes MAGIC, VERITAS and HESS (Hoang et al 2019). We see that the predicted emission exceeds the upper limits of HESS and marginally those of VERITAS, but it is worth mentioning that these upper limits are derived after 26.9 and 12.2 hours, respectively (Hoang et al 2019).…”

We are unable to capture the timing signature of the TeV emission with the current version of our model, but we moreover do not know yet whether the highenergy emission of these sources is persistent for up to 20-30 hours (Bodaghee et al 2013).…”
